documenting a fascination

with the urdu language

The Urdu Project began as an attempt to learn the Urdu language, its calligraphy and culture. It has since evolved into the documentary film ‘Guftagu,’ where we see Urdu as the bridge language that it is, connecting cultures, and crossing over man made borders. This space that began as a space for documenting the making of the film, also includes the many stories and resources that we found in the process of making it.
